Dave Grohl Avoids Question About Taylor Swift Following Controversial Eras Tour Comment
Dave Grohl is taking a different approach when it comes to discussing Taylor Swift.
A few weeks ago, the Foo Fighters frontman found himself embroiled in controversy when he made a comment about the international pop superstar and her ongoing Eras Tour. While onstage performing, Grohl insinuated that she doesn't "play live."
"I know we were joking about the Taylor Swift tour earlier. I know that she’s on the Eras Tour,” Grohl began in a June 22 video uploaded to TikTok. When the crowd began booing, the 55-year-old shook his head, warning the audience, “I’m telling you, man, you don’t want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift."
The rocker soon found out exactly what that meant, as some of The Tortured Poets Department artist's fans didn't find his following statement to be all that funny.
“So we like to call our tour the ‘Errors Tour.’ We’ve had more than a few eras and more than a few f—-ing errors, as well,” he said in what a handful of social media users interpreted as a joke. “That’s because we actually play live. What!?”
Fast forward to this week, a video published by TMZ on Thursday, Aug. 1, caught the moment a videographer asked Grohl to elaborate on his opinion of the "Fortnight" songstress.
"A lot of people online thought your statements on Taylor not playing live weren’t fair," they said off camera. "Why do you think she doesn’t sing live?”
But instead of freely offering up his thoughts like he did earlier this summer, Grohl completely dodged the question and continued to smoke a cigarette as he headed into his vehicle.
