Dave Not Returning for Season 4 at FXX
Dave‘s worldwide tour has come to an end: The hip-hop comedy starring Dave Burd will not return for a Season 4 at FXX, TVLine has learned.
“After some back and forth, there are no current plans for a fourth season of Dave right now,” FX said in a statement, “as Dave Burd has decided to take an extended break to focus on music and other ventures.” But “that does not rule out the possibility of doing something in the future,” the statement added, and Burd will develop “future projects for us through his overall production deal with FXP.”

Burd released a statement as well: “Making Dave has been and continues to be a dream come true. But there are other creative ventures that I am dying to pursue as well. For the past 5 years, I’ve poured every fiber of my being into the show, and after three amazing seasons, this feels like a good time to press pause to give myself the bandwidth to do some of the other things I have always wanted to do. I am beyond excited about what I have planned for the future and am enormously appreciative of FX for their continued partnership.”
Real-life rapper/comedian Dave Burd starred as a version of himself as he pursues superstardom in the world of hip-hop. Taylor Misiak co-starred as Dave’s ex-girlfriend Ally, with GaTa as his pal and hype man GaTa and Andrew Santino as his manager Mike. Dave attracted an impressive roster of guest stars in its three seasons, including appearances by Brad Pitt, Rachel McAdams, Kendall Jenner, Doja Cat and Justin Bieber. Chloe Bennet (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) also co-starred in Season 3 as Dave’s photographer love interest Robyn.
Dave premiered on FXX in March 2020, earning a Writers Guild of America nomination for best new series. The 10-episode Season 3 wrapped up in May, with episodes streaming the next day on Hulu.
