Dave Portnoy is leaving the BFF's Podcast.

The 47-year-old Barstool Sports founder and podcast co-host first teased the news on the Nov. 7 episode of the show, revealing that his plan was always to leave the show at the end of 2024. He explained that a part of his decision was because he was "getting older" and "talking about teenage drama [is] a little out of my wheelhouse now."

He added that his other co-hosts Josh Richards and Brianna LaPaglia knew about the decision "for months" and were looking for the best way to announce it.

On the BFF's Podcast on Nov. 14, Portnoy clarified his comments about leaving, confirming that after his departure, LaPaglia and Richards would continue as the sole co-hosts and would potentially change up the format of the show.

"Yeah. It's definitely gonna be a new pod," LaPaglia said, with Richards adding he and LaPaglia would be in person "much more" than before and would likely have more guests in future episodes.

While an exact date for Portnoy's final appearance hasn't been announced, he stated that he would finish the show at the end of the year.

Portnoy and Richards first started the BFF's Podcast in 2020 before LaPaglia joined them later that year.

During her own podcast Plan Bri Uncut, which she co-hosts with Grace O’Malley, LaPaglia spoke about her decision to join the BFF's Podcast. "[The show] was missing a third person and they kept bringing employees in from the [Barstool] office," she said in 2023, adding that they were testing how well she worked with Richards and Portnoy. LaPaglia also recalled that being on the show was "the scariest and craziest thing" she's ever done.

In the Nov. 7 episode, she accused her ex of emotional abuse throughout their relationship together, alleging that he made women he previously dated sign non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) and offered her $12 million and a New York apartment to stay silent.

""You get to go skip off and sing your little f----- songs on stage like you're a good dude," she said. "You get to treat people around you like s---. Sorry, I'm not them. I don't want your money; I don't want in two years to buy a f------house and think, 'Oh, this is the money from the dude that literally f----- destroyed me and broke me for a year.' "

She noted that she decided to open up about her alleged experiences "for anyone else that's been emotionally abused and for people right now being emotionally abused."

"This isn't like a drama thing for me," she explained. "This isn't me not signing the NDA or not taking the money because I wanna get on here and expose who he is and all that s---. I'm not signing away my experiences and what I went through to protect someone that hurt me and I'm a lot stronger than a weak man, f-- you and f--- your money."
