David Bowie and Iman’s Daughter, Lexi, Turns 16: See a Rare Photo of the Teen
David Bowie’s “Little Wonder” is getting big.
The late musician’s daughter with Iman, Alexandria “Lexi” Jones, has grown up outside of the public eye, but today — as the teen celebrates her sweet 16 — we get a rare glimpse of her, courtesy of mom. The supermodel posted a tribute to her “baby girl” on Instagram Monday, urging her only child with the rocker to stay “classy with a hint of sassy.”

The post included a black-and-white selfie of Lexi. In it, the dark haired beauty is dressed simply in a black turtleneck and has a flawless makeup application, including eyes and lips, which may have a little something-something to do with the fact that her mom has a cosmetics empire.
On Bowie’s Instagram, which is still going strong despite his passing in January from cancer, there was a throwback of the girl — along with her parents — that appeared in a magazine when she was born in 2000, as well as a pic of the singing legend when he was 16. The caption included a lyric from his song. “Fill Your Heart.”

Iman and David kept their relationship — and their daughter — out of the spotlight as much as possible. “We are very private, so we decided from early on that we will keep the press and editors and everybody out of our house,” she said in Interview in 2013.
Though David did talk about how Lexi’s arrival transformed him — and his music.
“Since the birth of my daughter I tend to write aggressively from a more optimistic standpoint, even if the subject matter is kind of dark,” he said in 2003. “I really don’t want to cast a dark shadow over her future, subtly or psychologically. It really behooves me to kind of be more positive about things than I might have been before she was born.”
While the family has endured a tremendous loss this year, they are also celebrating life. Duncan Jones, David’s son from his first marriage, who was raised by his father, welcomed his first child, a son Stenton, in June — six months to the day after his father’s passing.
