Dawn Richard’s Diddy Lawsuit Follows Diddy-Dirty Money Bandmate Kalenna Defending Mogul

Dawn Richard of Danity Kane and Diddy-Dirty Money fame has filed a lawsuit against former boss, Sean “Diddy” Combs, for physical, sexual, and verbal abuse. The filing comes just under four months after her Diddy-Dirty Money bandmate, Kalenna Harper, defended the mogul amid a plethora of lawsuits and accusations being leveled against him.

The former Love & Hip Hop star asserted within an investigative piece on Diddy for Rolling Stone that former Bad Boy signees who’ve spoken up against Puff’s business practices suffer from “disgruntled employee syndrome,” as his reputation as an executive was called into question within the piece. The May 2024 report also details the many lawsuits that have been filed against the Mt. Vernon native since Cassie filed her’s for sexual and physical abuse in November of 2023.

“Singer-songwriter Kalenna Harper says one of the highs of her life was joining Combs’ Diddy-Dirty Money group in 2009,” reads the Rolling Stone piece. “‘He was f**king cool as sh*t,’ she says, adding that artists who blame Combs for the trajectory of their careers may suffer from ‘disgruntled employee syndrome.’”

Several former Bad Boy artists have called out Puff for alleged shady business practices, including Ma$e, Aubrey O’Day, Mark Curry, the late Craig Mack, and others.

Richard’s lawsuit, however, focuses on accusations of abuse rather than ill business. She also claims that both she and Kalenna attempted to intervene after witnessing Cassie’s abuse, and were threatened by Combs for doing so.

“Y’all b**ches don’t get in my relationship; Don’t tell my b**ch what she need to be doing. Just make money and shut the f**k up. I end artists. I shelve careers. You could be missing. You b**ches want to die today?,” he told the two women, according to Richard’s suit.
