‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Director Shawn Levy Sidesteps Question About Potential Taylor Swift Movie Cameo
Taylor Swift
Shawn Levy continued to fuel speculation about the possibility of Taylor Swift’s involvement in Deadpool & Wolverine while speaking this week with reporters at CinemaCon.
The director of the forthcoming Marvel movie sidestepped direct questions about whether the “Cruel Summer” singer will have a cameo as Dazzler, a character in the Marvel Comics universe. When Entertainment Tonight posed the question, Levy, 55, reprimanded the outlet by saying “all of America knows” that he “can’t answer that.”
Even so, the director appeared to be amused by ongoing cameo discussions. “I will say, as I’ve said earlier here at CinemaCon, the proliferation of rumors about who is and isn’t in this movie, it’s fabulous,” Levy said. “Because no one will ever know the truth until July 26.”

As ET pushed Levy for direct responses to whether Swift will or will not appear in the film as Dazzler, the Free Guy director simply said, “That is hardly confirmed nor denied in this interview.”
Rumors that the “All Too Well” songstress might be involved began after Levy was spotted cheering for Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, alongside the pop star at an NFL game last fall. Swift’s friend, Blake Lively, and her Deadpool star husband, Ryan Reynolds, were also in Swift’s box for the Kansas City Chiefs game, as was The Wolverine star Hugh Jackman. Levy acknowledged to ET that a photo of the group taken during the game “probably sparked” speculation about a Swift cameo.
Marvel continued to fuel the rumors, even sharing a photo on social media in late February of friendship bracelets made specifically to promote the film, which is due out in late July. Friendship bracelets became popular among Swifties during the “Anti-Hero” singer’s international Eras Tour, during which concertgoers often swap the handmade bracelets amongst each other.
Though he refused to confirm who Dazzler will be, Levy indicated to ET that he is enjoying the speculation.
“What can I say? I think intrigue is fun,” he said.
