Dean Cain Calls White Supremacists’ Support of Trump ‘Overblown’

Actor Dean Cain, best known for playing Superman on the ’90s TV show Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, recently discussed his support for Donald Trump on Access Hollywood Live. He said: “I voted for Trump. He has my support. I wanted to change the system. I was not a fan of Hillary Clinton’s. I didn’t like her cadre of people around her, and I don’t like career politicians.”

One of Trump’s campaign promises involved the deportation of illegal immigrants, something that Cain was not hesitant about supporting. He said: “If you’re an illegal immigrant, then you have reason to be — you’ve already broken the law — so there is a problem there.”

Access Hollywood Live host Natalie Morales then asked Cain what he thought about white nationalist groups supporting Trump. Cain explained that he thinks it’s a one-sided relationship: “I’m sure that the neo-Nazi group or the white supremacist group that we’re talking about, which I’m not really aware of, but if that’s the case, it doesn’t mean [Trump] supports them at all. I do think it’s way overblown. I don’t think there’s this mass anarchy that’s going to happen.”

Cain might be content to support Trump for now, but he did jokingly mull over pursuing politics in the future, mentioning a potential run for the U.S. Senate.
