Deftones' tour heads to Columbus next year

Deftones will step back to center stage with their first headline tour in three years. Local fans can look forward to a performance in Columbus next year.

The multiplatinum Grammy-award-winning alternative-metal band will perform at Nationwide Arena, 200 W. Nationwide Blvd., Saturday, March 29 at 7 p.m., as part of their North American tour, which will kick off in February.

Presale tickets are available now through 11:59 p.m. Thursday at ticketmaster.com. Additional presale tickets will run throughout the week ahead of the general sale, which will begin at 10 a.m. Friday. Check livenation.com for updates.

The tour will include special guests The Mars Volta and Fleshwater.

The band, which is made up of four members — Chino Moreno, Frank Delgado, Stephan Carpenter and Abe Cunningham — have released nine studio albums with over 10 million sales and 7.1 billion streams.

Often referred to as one of the most influential alternative bands in the world that originated in 1988, their most popular songs include "Change (In The House Of Flies)," "Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)," "7 Words" and "Passenger."

Deftones has performed at Coachella, Primavera Sound and Lollapalooza this year.

The band will also perform at their fifth annual Dia De Los Deftones festival Nov. 2 at Petco Park in San Diego, California.

For the March performance, there is an eight-ticket limit per person/household. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
