Del Taco collaborates with actor Danny Trejo’s fast food venture
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Del Taco has announced a limited-time collaboration with Trejo’s Tacos, the fast food concept founded by actor Danny Trejo.
On Thursday, Del Taco and Trejo’s Tacos revealed their joint roasted pork al pastor menu. It features street tacos, loaded fries, burritos and cheddar quesadillas, all featuring roasted pork al pastor.
The meat is marinated with chipotle spices, onions, garlic and pineapple juice, which Trejo described as “a piece of my roots.”

Having starred in various films, Trejo is perhaps best known for his roles in “Desperado,” “From Dusk Till Dawn,” “Once Upon a Time in Mexico” and the “Spy Kids” franchise. Additionally, he has voiced characters in animated films including “Despicable Me 2,” “The Book of Life” and “Storks.”
“Our collaboration with Trejo’s Tacos? is all about turning up the fun and flavor. We’re not just sharing a meal, we’re embracing and respecting the rich cultural history that Pork Al Pastor represents,” said Tom Rose, President at Del Taco.
To compliment the spicy and savory flavors, the new menu also includes three new pineapple-based drinks with Sprite and Minute Maid Zero Sugar Lemonade or a mini shake with real fruit.
