Delaware's Johnny Weir joins Kim Zolciak, Josie Canseco on new season of The Surreal Life
Delawarean and Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir's summer just got busier.
Not only will he be in France as part of NBC's Paris 2024 Olympics coverage starting Friday, July 26, but he also will be among the cast of returning reality show "The Surreal Life" when its seventh season kicks off three days earlier.
"The Surreal Life: Villa of Secrets" will move from VH1 to MTV for the debut of its new season, now announced for Tuesday, July 23, at 9 p.m.
It marks Weir's return to MTV after his appearance on "Cribs" in 2021 when he showed off his then-new Greenville home.
The rest of "The Surreal Life" cast this time around includes:
Kim Zolciak, former cast member of Bravo's "The Real Housewives of Atlanta"
Josie Canseco, model
Chet Hanks, actor and musician son of Tom Hanks
Macy Gray, Grammy Award-winning singer and actor
Tyler Posey, former "Teen Wolf" actor and musician
O.T. Genasis, "CoCo" rapper
Ally Brooke, former Fifth Harmony singer
The show tracks a different group of celebrities each season as they live together in a Hollywood mansion. This time around, they will live in Medellín, Colombia, in episodes filmed in the fall of last year.
"Each day these all-star guests will be surprised with provocative missions that push their limits, uncover their pasts and lead them to divulge their deepest truths. Eight celebs, one villa … ALL will be revealed," according to MTV, announcing the show.

A new trailer released over the weekend already has made headlines for a cozy scene between Zolciak and Hanks.
Hanks is seen calling Zolciak a popular online euphemism for attractive before a scene showing them climbing into bed together. "That's gonna look so terrible," Zolciak is heard saying.
Weir retired from public skating performances last year with a final show in Wilmington before announcing his next move, the opening of the Aston, Pennsylvania-based Johnny Weir Skating Academy.
