As an entertainer, Demi Lovato is one of a kind. But when it comes to family life, the multitalented artist and director of the Hulu documentary “Child Star,” now streaming, is one of four — sisters, that is.

In fact, you might recognize a couple of Lovato’s siblings, as Dallas Lovato and Madison De La Garza have several screen credits of their own. The singer’s third sister, Amber, might be more of a mystery. Until about a decade ago, she was a stranger even to Demi.

Read on to learn more about all three of the “Sorry Not Sorry” singer’s siblings.

Demi was born August 20, 1992.

Her mother, author and former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Dianna De La Garza, and father, musician and engineer Patrick Lovato, welcomed their first daughter, Dallas, four years earlier.

According to People, Dallas and Demi’s parents parted ways in 1994, with Dianna marrying her second husband, Eddie De La Garza, the following year. Demi’s half sister Madison was born in 2001.

For most of Demi’s life, she believed she was the middle child.

She met her older half sister, Amber, later in life

In a 2013 interview, the former Disney star shared that she has a half sister whom Patrick fathered in a previous marriage, several years before Dallas was born.

“She’s my half sister and I talked to her for the very first time in my life around when I turned 20,” Demi said about Amber while talking with New York’s WBLI.

“I asked her, ‘Why haven’t you ever contacted me?’ and she just said, ‘Well, because I never wanted you to think I wanted anything from you. So I’ve just kind of been waiting to see if you wanted a relationship,’ and I just thought that was so incredible.”

Amber, whose last name remains private, was “in her 30s” when she and Demi first spoke. About a year after the sisters’ introduction, their father died of cancer at the age of 53.

Demi got her start on the small screen in 2002, appearing on the children’s series “Barney & Friends.” In 2007, she secured her first gig on the Disney Channel, starring in a series of shorts called “As the Bell Rings.” By 2008, Dallas was following in her little sister’s footsteps.

Debuting her acting skills on Disney Channel’s “Wizards of Waverly Place,” Dallas later appeared alongside Demi in an episode of “Sonny With a Chance.”

Dallas’ most recent TV appearance opposite her superstar sibling came in 2021, when she joined Demi in “Unidentified With Demi Lovato,” a Peacock Original docuseries that focuses on the possibility of extraterrestrial life.

Today, Dallas continues to work as an actor and vocal coach.

At just 6 years old, Madison was cast in “Desperate Housewives.” She played the role of Juanita Solis, the daughter of Gabrielle Solis (Eva Longoria), from 2008 to 2012.

Madison, who has since directed several short films, is a vocal supporter of Demi’s and has been for some time.

In 2018, less than a month after Demi was hospitalized following a drug overdose, Madison celebrate Demi’s birthday on Instagram.

“Today could have been one of the worst days of my life, but instead i get to spend it thanking God, the incredible doctors, demi’s team, and everyone across the world who offered their support — without all of these people i wouldn’t have my big sister anymore,” she wrote.

Years later, Madison got candid about her own experiences with substance abuse and getting sober. In an interview with E! News, she credited Demi as an inspiration for sharing her story.

“She obviously gives me a lot of great sister advice,” she said. “But I think it’s more powerful to see her in action. I’ve started to share my personal story and I would have never, ever, ever done that if it wasn’t for her. Her honesty, her bravery and being an open book, I think that is what drives me.”

Their family continues to grow

As Madison announced on Instagram in early September of 2024, she and her boyfriend, actor Ryan Mitchell, are expecting their first child in October.

In the comments that followed the post, Aunt Demi wrote, “I love you and this baby so much already!!”
