Demi Lovato's outstanding career success
As headlines and rumors fly around Demi Lovato’s hospitalization and reported drug overdose, there’s another thing fans want to focus on: The 25-year-old star’s accomplishments.
She broke out on the Disney Channel a decade ago, winning admirers with two Camp Rock movies alongside the Jonas Brothers in the 2008 and 2010. Then Lovato got her own show, Sonny With a Chance, a role that nabbed her a win for “Choice TV — Breakout Star,” the first of 14 Teen Choice awards.
Earlier this year Lovato embraced her Latina roots, singing in Spanish on Luis Fonsi’s latest track, “échame la Culpa.” The video has more than 1.2 billion views on YouTube, a record for Lovato. “I love singing in Spanish,” she said.

Six albums, more than 140 songs, and multiple collaborations have made for massive success, buoyed by her huge fan base (67 million Instagram followers). “Lovatics” are rallying around their idol as Lovato faces what reports say is a an uphill battle for sobriety, one she has publicly faced.

In 2012 she released the YouTube documentary Stay Strong, about her rough recovery with substance abuse, purging, and self-harming. Lovato told People magazine, “I was so honest in that documentary, but I wasn’t honest enough.”
