Denzel Washington and his son are dominating the box office together and the internet thinks it's 'so dope'
The Equalizer 2 isn’t just the number one movie in America — it’s also the first sequel of Denzel Washington’s illustrious career. And with his son John David Washington starring in BlacKkKlansman, the latest joint from Spike Lee set to premiere in just a few weeks, it seems like it’s not just the elder Washington who’s going to rule the August box-office.
Because next month is going to be a Washington family affair at the multiplex, it’s fitting that in the New York City subways, a Twitter user found the movie posters for both of their offerings sitting comfortably side-by-side:

Trailers seem to be playing one after the other too:

While Denzel told Jamie Foxx (during his appearance on Off Script) that his advice to his moviemaking kids is that less is often more, it’s clear that cinephiles are in for plenty of Washington-related action in the coming weeks. The Equalizer 2 is in theaters now, and BlacKkKlansman — co-starring Adam Driver, Laura Harrier and Topher Grace — arrives on August 10.
