Charlie Puth and Brooke Sansone are still not over their “dream" wedding.
The couple, who tied the knot on Sept. 7 at Puth's family house in Montecito, California, shared with Vogue how their nuptials came together to create a memorable wedding weekend to celebrate their love.
The pair kicked off their wedding on Friday, Sept. 6, with a rehearsal dinner at the elegant San Ysidro Ranch. The couple decorated the tables with wildflowers and candles, while paper lanterns hung above the dining area.
The couple carried the theme over to a special soirée at their home where they invited guests to indulge in welcome drinks and desserts. Sansone also told Vogue that they brought in “a live embroiderer” that embroidered “trucker hats” for guests. She recalled, “It was an amazing cocktail party lit up with string lights and paper lanterns.”
The following day, guests were treated to champagne as soon as they arrived at the residence. Later, when the wedding began in front of a beautiful olive tree located in Puth’s parents’ driveway, they watched as the groom himself sang Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” alongside the Sunday Service Choir.
Sansone walked down the aisle in a custom Danielle Frankel strapless gown with a train that featured leaf-shaped lace detailing at the neckline, as well as a draped linen organza skirt with hand-cut Chantilly lace floral appliqués, per Vogue. As for the groom, he wore a custom Bode double-breasted suit jacket with lace trim and loose-fitting cuffs embroidered with the words "Us, Forever."
The pair exchanged their vows and one-of-a-kind wedding bands with inset diamonds created by Puth’s family jeweler before taking their first walk together as a married couple back down the aisle. Guests threw flower petals over the couple as they made their way back and were serenaded by The Sunday Service Choir singing “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.”
“The ceremony was both our favorite part of the whole day, not just for us but for many of our guests as well,” Sansone shared with the outlet. “Having a close friend officiate the wedding made us feel very comfortable. When I was standing up there I have never felt more connected to Charlie — it was like time stopped. Without realizing it, we had both included the same line in our vows: ‘It’s always been you.' "
Following the ceremony, guests gathered for cocktails on the pool patio before moving into a tent on the property for the reception. Sansone said she wanted the decorations to make guests feel like they were walking into a new restaurant with “a bold blue carpeted floor,” “bare tables without linens” and “chrome table lamps and scattered floor lamps for a softer ambiance.”

The newlyweds made their grand entrance to “Can’t Get Enough of Your Love, Babe” by Barry White and later shared their first dance to the classic “Jersey Girl” by Bruce Springsteen — which is an ode to the origins of their love story in New Jersey.
That wasn’t the only callback to their romance as they also had a vintage-style photo booth on the premises that guests could take photos in — reminiscent of the photo booth pictures Puth shared when announcing their relationship. Sansone said the detail brought “things full circle.”
She added that the reception also had nods to her own childhood and culture, saying, “Since I am Italian, we had to include a family-style pasta dish for guests to pass around to make it feel like an intimate dinner party.” The pair also opted to have a carrot wedding cake.

The reception slowly transitioned to an afterparty in the tent with late-night snacks including french fries in custom “Brooke + Charlie” packaging, along with burgers, mini beer mugs and espresso martini shots. The bride also changed up her outfit into a simple, off-white Prada slip dress to party it up with close friends and family.
Sansone told Vogue that the weekend was a success and felt “like a dream.”
“We can’t believe it’s all over, but we had the best night ever,” she said.
