All the Details on Supernatural Star Jared Padalecki's New Wine Line: 'I'm So Proud of This Awesome Juice'

Supernatural star Jared Padalecki has teamed up with his pal Arrow star Stephen Amell on a single vintage wine, Venatore, in collaboration with Amell's wine club, Nocking Point.

"We knew Jared would be the perfect person to kick off our new series of label collaborations with because he knows a ton about wine, frankly more than we do," says Amell.

The vintage is a Chardonnay-based sparkling wine; the name Venatore comes from the Latin word for "hunter," a reference to Padalecki's Supernatural television role. The wine's label is courtesy of Padalecki's sister Megan.

"I'm so proud of this awesome juice I was able to be a part of," he wrote on Instagram about the new line.

Padalecki joins the ranks of other celebrities stepping into the wine business, including John Legend's Legend Vineyard Collection, Sting and Trudie Styler's Il Palagio, Fergie's Ferguson Crest, Kate Hudson's Hudson Bellamy Wines, and Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's Chateau Miraval.

"Jared's sparkling is a super approachable, light bodied sparkling that we sampled straight up and as mimosas," Amell tells PEOPLE of the citrus blend. "It's awesome and we're all super proud of it!"

Venatore marks the first outside collaboration with Amell and his Nocking Point business partner, Andrew Harding. Their wine club was founded in 2012 and currently has over 4200 members. A portion of the proceeds from the pals' co-venture will be donated to charity.

"I'm so happy to have been able to do this," Padalecki tells PEOPLE.
