'Detroiters' stars Sam Richardson and Tim Robinson take home Emmys for streaming comedies
Sam Richardson and Tim Robinson, who created and starred in 2017-18's "Detroiters," each took home an Emmy for different projects at Saturday night’s Creative Arts Emmys ceremony.
Richardson won in the guest actor in a comedy series category for playing billionaire Edwin Akufo from Ghana on AppleTV+’s “Ted Lasso.” It is his first Emmy. He was nominated in 2022 for the same role.
Robinson took home his second Emmy for outstanding actor in a short form comedy or drama series for his Netflix sketch show, “I Think You Should Leave.”
While accepting the award, Richardson thanked his team, his family, Robinson and the Detroit Lions, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Best friends since their early days in the Detroit comedy scene, Richardson and Robinson are both devoted Lions fans.

The Creative Arts Emmys are typically held a week before the main Emmy Awards and devoted mostly to crew and crafts categories.
The main Emmy Awards will air live Jan. 15 on Fox. Anthony Anderson of ABC’s “Black-ish" is hosting.
Both ceremonies were delayed for four months by the Hollywood actors and writers strikes in 2023.
