The 10-episode original drama series is set in 1991 Miami and follows Dexter (Patrick Gibson), a student refining his killer skills with the help and support of his adoptive father Harry. In his dad, he finds solace and understanding, especially as his bloodthirsty urges grow and can no longer be ignored.
As his only confidant, Harry teaches Dexter a code that’s designed to help him find and kill people who deserve to die — all while avoiding getting caught by law enforcement. This is a particular challenge for young Dexter as he begins a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department.
Dexter: Original Sin also stars Molly Brown as Debra Morgan, James Martinez as Angel Batista, Christina Milian as Maria LaGuerta, Alex Shimizu as Vince Masuka, Reno Wilson as Bobby Watt and special guest star Sarah Michelle Gellar as Tanya Martin.
The series also stars Joe Pantoliano as Mad Dog, Brittany Allen as Dexter’s biological mother, Laura Moser, Randy Gonzalez as Santos Jimenez, Aaron Jennings as Clark Sanders, Raquel Justice as Sofia, Lewis, Jasper Lewis as Dexter’s adoptive mom and wife of Harry, Doris Morgan, Carlo Mendez as Hector Estrada, Isaac Gonzalez Rossi as Gio and Roberto Sanchez as Tony Ferrer.
Executive producer Michael C. Hall—the Original Dexter— is set to narrate the series.
Dexter: Original Sin is executive produced by Phillips and produced by Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios. Scott Reynolds also EPs alongside Hall, Mary Leah Sutton, Tony Hernandez and Lilly Burns, with Robert Lloyd Lewis producing. Michael Lehmann will serve as directing executive producer.
Brooks will next recur on the Amazon series Cross alongside Aldis Hodge. She previously recurred on the Showtime series Super Pumped. She is repped by Greene Talent, Vault Entertainment and Meyer & Downs.
