How did Eugene and Dan Levy do as 2024 Emmy hosts? Grade them! [POLL]
It’s been four years since Eugene Levy and his son Dan Levy were the toasts of the Emmy Awards at the COVID-impacted 2020 ceremony with their massive haul for the comedy series “Schitt’s Creek.” This year for the 76th Emmys, they’re back as co-hosts of the show – the first time a father and son have presided over the festivities. The men said going in, “For two Canadians who won our Emmys in a literal quarantine tent, the idea of being asked to host this year in an actual theater was incentive enough.”
But incentive will take you only so far. How did the Levys do Sunday night on ABC as the 2024 Emmy hosts? Grade their performance in our poll below.

The Levys won a few armfuls of Emmys as part of that “Schitt’s Creek” sweep, including Best Comedy Actor (Eugene), Best Comedy Supporting Actor (Dan), Best Comedy Directing (Dan), Best Comedy Writing (Dan) and Best Comedy Series (both as executive producers). Eugene is back among the Emmy nominees this year for his nonfiction series, “The Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levy.” The elder Levy is also a member of the Disney family with a guest appearance on the fourth season of Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building,” playing a version of himself.
Eugene Levy’s association with the Emmys actually extends all the way back to 1982 and ’83, when he won a pair of trophies for Best Writing in a Variety or Music Program for his iconic sketch comedy series “SCTV Network.”
Prior to the Levys, other Emmys hosts from the modern era include Anthony Anderson (2023), Kenan Thompson (2022), Cedric the Entertainer (2021), Jimmy Kimmel (2020, 2016, 2012), Michael Che & Colin Jost (2018), Stephen Colbert (2017), Andy Samberg (2015), Seth Meyers (2014) and Neil Patrick Harris (2013, 2009). A woman hasn’t hosted the Emmy Awards since Jane Lynch in 2011.
