Did Jessica Biel push Justin Timberlake for a public apology? Wendy Williams thinks so
Justin Timberlake apologizes and Wendy Williams says “cry me a river.”
Williams weighed in on Timberlake’s apology after he was seen holding hands with his Palmer co-star, Alisha Wainwright, speculating it was his wife Jessica Biel who asked him for the mea culpa.
“It must be hell at home, honey!” said Williams. “She probably grabbed him by the scuff of his neck and said ‘you better get out there and say something,” she speculated.
And “say something” he did—posting a lengthy apology on Instagram:
Williams read a portion of his statement on-air and proceeded to rip up the notecard it was printed on exclaiming, “Sir, please.”
She also threw some shade at the couple, who have been married since 2012. “I never thought they were a great couple as far as chemistry. I mean, they look good together but I don’t really understand the appeal of Biel beyond a ‘look,’” she said.
She added, “I picture him with somebody who has a little swivel in her hip. A little glide in her side!”
Viewers on Twitter jumped into the debate, with some saying they were glad to see Timberlake apologizing to Biel and his son for his behavior, and if “what goes around comes around” then he did the right thing:
I think @jtimberlake is seriously one of the great talents of my lifetime. I love that he put out a short but informative letter of apology. I tend to believe him and hope this passes.

Good for Justin, it takes a big man to publicly apologize for a lapse of judgement.

But others slammed those looking for an apology and said Timberlake has nothing to be sorry for:
Since when is holding hands with someone else while drunk something that warrants a public apology?? God knows my bf is flirty AF and it doesn't bother me one bit. Leave #JustinTimberlake alone, maaaan.

Obviously, I'm not in his marriage or know the true details of how anything went down but this Justin Timberlake apology is some BS.
He held hands with a costar and the internet blew it out of proportion like it always does. That man has nothing to apologize for.— TreNesha 🎄??🎅 (@QueenOfTheMM) December 5, 2019
