Did 'Yellowstone' Star Jen Landon Just Shut Down Rumors of a Sixth Season?
Just when you thought it was over, a new round of Yellowstone drama crops up. This time, the speculation centers on Jen Landon, who appears on the series as the marble-mouthed ranch hand Teeter.
Earlier this week, the actress posted a selfie to her Instagram taken during the filming of the second half of the fifth season—now known as 5B. However it wasn't the image itself that got fans' attention, but the caption, which bid an apparently permanent farewell to the show.
"Here’s a blurry selfie of me leaving set on my last day of the last season of Yellowstone. Mound of paper towels for all the feelings. It was an incredible ride," she wrote.
Until recently, that sentiment wouldn't have sparked much discussion—Paramount announced in 2023 that season 5B would be the series's last. However, just over two weeks ago, Deadline reported that the hit Western may not be as doomed as once thought, sharing official confirmation that actors Kelly Reilly, who plays Beth Dutton, and Cole Hauser, who stars as her husband Rip, were both in negotiations to return for a sixth season. While that certainly didn't make another outing official, the chance did stoke hopes for many fans who aren't yet ready to say goodbye to the Dutton ranch.
Notably, in the show's first teaser trailer, 5B is billed only as "the epic return" of the series, not its final season, further fueling the fires of possibility.
Of course, without an official announcement on the issue, it's impossible to know how much to make of Landon's post. It could truly indicate that there will be no sixth season after all; likewise, it might suggest that the actress hasn't been involved in talks for the future of the series. She might also simply be hedging her bets by holding to the last official word from Paramount. Whatever the case, it's surely given fans plenty to talk about.
Yellowstone season 5B will debut on Paramount Network on November 10, 2024.
