Diddy Interview About Throwing Parties With ?”Locks On Doors” And “No Air Conditioning” Resurfaces After Arrest
Diddy’s old comments regarding the perfect party have raised eyebrows after they have resurfaced in a video. Following Sean Combs‘ arrest on sex trafficking charges, fans began parsing through old clips and pictures of the entertainer with a bit of a side-eye. One of the videos featured the rapper on Late Night with Conan O’Brien from 2002, where Combs detailed how to throw a great party.
It’s unclear whether the mogul was participating in a bit with O’Brien or being completely serious. Nonetheless, his description of his party necessities hasn’t sat well with netizens.
“This is what you need to do,” Diddy begins. “Women. Beautiful women, of course. Beautiful men for the ladies, of course… You need to give the ladies what they need, too. Take care of your women. You can’t force the situation.”
“We need alcohols,” he added. “You need some water. I don’t know if guys have noticed this, but a lot of ladies drink water at parties. So if you don’t have what they need, they gon’ leave. Gotta keep ’em there. You need locks on the doors… It’s a little kinky but, you know… rock with me. You need a lot of heat. Don’t have no air conditioning. Heat effects the alcohol and it also effects… you know, everybody gets a little bit more comfortable and loose. It builds up a nice little sweat.”
Conan, ever the comedian, offered several retorts to Combs’ list of needs for a party, even calling the locks on the doors “dangerous.” After hearing about the idea of sweaty bodies all lumped into one room without air conditioning, Conan quipped the parties also sounded “a bit disgusting,” to which Diddy responded, “It depends on how you look at it.”
Naturally, netizens reacted to the resurfaced clip, calling for the artist to be jailed, while others criticized law enforcement for not acting sooner. “Between him, Cosby, and R.Kelly it’s f**ked how much they got away with admitting sh*t out in the public,” one account on X/Twitter posted. “It’s so disgusting and sad to see over and over again, how easy it is for abusers to fly under the radar even when they’re practically confessing their abuse,” another comment expressed.
Sean Combs was arrested in mid-September, with prosecutors hitting him with a RICO charge and charges of sex trafficking. During the press conference following the arrest, federal prosecutors revealed that they have been building a case against the mogul since 2008.
