Blood is thicker than water and, evidently, a stack of damaging lawsuits. Janice Combs, mother of public enemy No. 1 Diddy, recently spoke out in defense of her son and the many allegations against him.

Combs opened her statement, submitted to The Hollywood Reporter via her attorney Natlie G. Figgers, calling all of the allegations a “narrative created out of lies” and believes he deserves to tell his side of the story after 120 new accusers popped up last week. “To bear witness what seems to be like a public lynching of my son before he has had the opportunity to prove his innocence is a pain too unbearable to put into words,” she said. “Like every human being, my son deserves to have his day in court, to finally share his side, and to prove his innocence.”

She admitted that he did not tell the full truth about Cassie initially, adding, “My son may not have been entirely truthful about certain things, such as denying he has ever gotten violent with an ex-girlfriend when the hotel’s surveillance showed otherwise.” Combs stated, “Sometimes, the truth and a lie become so closely intertwined that it becomes terrifying to admit one part of the story especially when that truth is outside the norm or is too complicated to be believed.”

Janice Combs, even in admitting Diddy’s dishonesty concerning Cassie, stood firm in her belief that he wasn’t guilty of everything he was accused of. “Many individuals who were wrongfully convicted and later exonerated had their freedom taken from them not because they were guilty of the crimes they were accused of, but because they didn’t fit the image of what this society considers to be a ‘good person,’” she said.

“History has showed us how individuals can be wrongfully convicted due to their past actions or mistakes […] It is truly agonizing to watch the world turn against my son so quickly and easily over lies and misconceptions, without ever hearing his side or affording him the opportunity to present his side.”

Combs went as far as to support the narrative that came about after Cassie’s lawsuit was settled, suggesting that Diddy’s accusers were simply trying to get money out of him. “These lies thrown at him are motivated by those seeking a financial gain, and not justice,” she said. “These individuals saw how quickly my son’s civil legal team settled his ex-girlfriend’s lawsuit, so they believe they can receive a quick payday by falsely accusing my son. False allegations of sexual assault thwart true victims of sexual violence from getting the justice they deserve.”

This was Janice Combs’ first public statement after being hospitalized in July for chest pain. It comes after Diddy’s last few weeks which have been damaging to any credibility the public may have felt he had left. He was arrested in September for racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. The federal government revealed that they had evidence of his “freak offs,” 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant, and three assault rifles with their serial numbers scratched off.

On top of that, attorney Tony Buzbee is spearheading an effort where 120 new accusers have come out and plan to pursue litigation against Diddy. They claim to be victims of sex crimes that date back to 1991 and many of them claim that they were drugged and raped.
