Diddy Posts Cryptic Message Amid Flurry Of Sexual Abuse Lawsuits
Diddy has been hit with a series of sexual assault lawsuits seemingly nonstop since November 2023, but the mogul is keeping his head up. On Tuesday (May 14), Sean Combs took to Instagram with a mysterious yet blunt message to his followers: “Time tells the truth,” with a caption that simply read, “LOVE.” While it isn’t clear what he’s referring to, it’s difficult to read the post without thinking of the flurry of allegations lodged against him at the moment.
Most recently, Combs addressed a lawsuit accusing him of raping a then 17-year-old girl in 2003. On Friday (May 10), Jonathan D. Davis, the attorney representing Sean Combs, filed a request to dismiss the suit and claimed the legal doc was a “false and hideous claim” that was untimely filed.
“This stunt is intended to prominently showcase a baseless and time-barred claim, which was designed to cause the Combs Defendants unwanted publicity, embarrassment, and financial costs, so Plaintiff could extract an undeserved financial recovery from them,” Combs’ motion read.
“Mr. Combs and his companies categorically deny Plaintiff’s decades-old tale against them, which has already caused incalculable damage to the reputations and business standing of the Combs Defendants, even before any evidence has been presented. Plaintiff cannot allege what day or time of year the alleged incident occurred, yet purports to miraculously recall the most prurient details with specificity. This case should be dismissed now, with prejudice, to protect the Combs Defendants from further reputational injury and before more party and judicial resources are squandered.”
Additionally, Combs’ dismissal request claimed that the suit “is time-barred because the ‘claim-revival’ provision of the [New York City’s] Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Law (VGM) is preempted by the [New York State] Adult Survivors Act and Child Victims Act.”
Diddy and his team have actively denied any and all wrongdoing that he has been accused of throughout several lawsuits. In responding to a suit that he allegedly raped a 16-year-old girl in the 90’s alongside singer Aaron Hall, a spokesperson for Combs rejected the accusation as well.
“The claims involving alleged misconduct against Mr. Combs from over 30 years ago and filed at the last minute are all completely denied and rejected by him. He recognizes this as a money grab,” he told NBC News. Because of Mr. Combs’ fame and success, he is an easy target for accusers who will falsify the truth, without conscience or consequence, for financial benefit. The New York Legislature surely did not intend or expect the Adult Survivors Act to be exploited for improper purposes. The public should be skeptical and not rush to accept these unsubstantiated allegations.”
