Diddy’s Rise And Demise To Be Covered In Forthcoming ‘Investigation Discovery’ Docuseries
Diddy has been the subject of lawsuits, allegations, jokes, and proposed docuseries’ over the last few months. Investigation Discovery, known as ID, is now joining the mix and producing a docuseries that will cover the 54-year-old artist’s rise and demise.
Maxine Productions, the company responsible for recent docuseries Quiet On Set: The Dark Side Of Kids TV — which was a major talking point this year for its unsettling revelations — will assist in production. Thus, they already have the cachet and ability to produce content surrounding the controversial mogul that may stand above the rest when the docuseries premieres in 2025.
Per Deadline, the docuseries covers “the rise and influence of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and the allegations of violent behavior and illegal activity that have trailed the music mogul.” His accusers are reported to appear in the docuseries and provide “insight into unfolding allegations against the once untouchable superstar” while also keying in on “the toxic power dynamic that played out within the industry and kept many survivors silenced – until now.”
This announcement comes just two days after Diddy was arrested in New York City. His federal indictment was initially sealed before a press conference on Tuesday (Sept. 17) where it was revealed that he was taken into custody for racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, and much more. One of the major takeaways from the revelations was that he had three AR-15s with their serial codes scratched off, and over 1000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant in his possession.
Diddy’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, claimed that Puff “knew [his arrest] was coming” and returned to New York to prepare for it. “We knew this day would come and it’s here,” he added. “[Diddy is] dealing with this head on the way he has dealt with every challenge in his life.” Despite knowing it was inevitable, his legal team maintains his innocence.
“We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. attorney’s office,” Agnifilo said in a statement on Monday. “Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children, and working to uplift the Black community. He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal.”
Diddy’s downfall began last November, when his ex-girlfriend Cassie filed a lawsuit against him for rape and sex trafficking. While the former couple settled for an undisclosed amount outside of court, this opened the door for a number of his other alleged victims, one of which was producer Lil Rod, to pursue litigation against the former REVOLT chairman.
In March, Homeland Security raided his homes in Miami and Los Angeles, which took this case to another level. In May, CNN shared footage of the “I Need A Girl” artist assaulting Cassie during their stay at a Los Angeles hotel in 2016.
