Dierks Bentley and Miranda Lambert pair for quartet of songs for CBS' 'Fire Country'
CBS' new, ratings-topping television program "Fire Country" continues its successful country music pairings by working alongside Dierks Bentley and Miranda Lambert -- who have 30-plus No. 1 Billboard Country Airplay chart-toppers between them -- for a quartet of new singles that will air over the next two inaugural season-closing weeks of programming on Friday, May 12, and Friday, May 19, at 9-10 p.m., ET/PT on CBS and available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.
Last month, Kane Brown followed his hosting and performance duties at the CMT Music Awards with an April 7 appearance on the program as Robin, "an enigmatic, modern-day train hopper who helps injured patients on the scene of a crash."
Series creator and star Max Thieriot states via a press release that he's a "huge" country music fan and that Bentley and Lambert -- two of his "all-time favorite" artists, "provide the perfect backdrop for [the season's dramatic conclusion]."
The new songs soundtracking the show include:
"Saved" (May 12) – written by Jon Randall & Luke Dick; performed by Dierks Bentley with Miranda Lambert
"Still Burning" (May 12) – written by Miranda Lambert, Jon Randall & Luke Dick; performed by Miranda Lambert with Dierks Bentley
"Something in the Water" (May 19) – written by Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley, Jon Randall & Luke Dick; performed by Dierks Bentley with Miranda Lambert
"Barbed Wire Heart" (May 19) – written by Dierks Bentley & Jon Randall; performed by Dierks Bentley
Bentley and Lambert count their Nashville and Texas-based co-writers Luke Dick and Jon Randall as friends and highlight that pairing a song concept with an existing TV show was a "cool, explorative and fun" project.
Bentley's single "Gold" from his recently achieved No. 1 status, marking his 22nd hit from his tenth album release, "Gravel & Gold." As for Lambert, she's also breaking unprecedented career ground as her just-released debut cookbook, "Y'all Eat Yet?," is a New York Times best-seller.
"Fire Country" centers on telling the stories of an elite crew of Northern California firefighters extinguishing blazes across the region, joined by a redemption-seeking young convict who joins a firefighting program -- alongside other inmates -- wanting shortened prison sentences.
