Dina Manzo Reveals Why Her “Heart Needs a Break” in Candid Confession
Although she’s a longtime animal lover, Dina Manzo isn’t quite ready to expand her fur family.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey alum confirmed this last week during another Q&A with her Instagram fans. The session found Dina addressing a wide range of topics, including everything from fitness and interior design to finances and travel; however, there was one inquiry that kept popping up in her inbox:
“Lots asking if I’m going to adopt another pup anytime soon,” she captioned the post, which showed her husband, Dave Cantin, holding their bulldog. “We’ve lost 5 animals in 4 yrs. My heart needs a break. Mama is a full time job too.”

Dina Manzo shares heartbreaking story about her dog, Lil Mama
The family began fostering another bully named Lil Mama in 2017 after she and her siblings were rescued from a shelter. Dina shared pooch’s heartbreaking story in an August 2017 Instagram, in which she thanked the nonprofit Road Dog Rescues for all their support.
“‘Lil Mama’ as I like to call her was pulled from the shelter by [Road Dogs] with her 2 sisters in this video,” she captioned the video. “Horrified of humans, under weight, over bred, filled w worms, not even knowing what a leash is these poor babies must have lived a horrible life… A ton of love and patience and yes some money for vet bills etc she is now the perfect dog for any household… I’m deciding soon if I should selfishly keep her because I love her so much.”

Elsewhere in the Q&A, Dina revealed how she manages to stay so positive in her everyday life. The former Jersey ’Wife acknowledged that difficult times are inevitable, but it’s important to focus on the “beautiful moments” throughout the day. She underscored this point by recalling an emotional experience she had in her car.
“Today I actually cried driving home from the supermarket,” she wrote. “The view of the ocean/mountains with a sailboat was so pretty. As I admired it there were a bunch of huge bubbles flying by. Two older ladies were looking and pointing at them with wonder like children and it all made me hold my heart and cry like a crazy person. It also made me order a bubble machine when I got home.”
