‘The Diplomat’ is back for Season 2: What to know, from premiere date to cast
Keri Russell is back as U.S. ambassador to the United Kingdom Kate Wyler for the second season of "The Diplomat."
The Netflix political thriller returns on Halloween and less than a week away from the upcoming U.S. election, making it a great watch for either occasion.
Premiering in April 2023, the first season concluded with Russell learning that the British prime minister is responsible for an attack on a British warship that brought her to the U.K. Showrunner and creator Debora Cahn has confirmed that season 2 will follow Kate's attempt to prove it.
"The U.S. and the U.K. don’t spy on each other," showrunner and creator Debora Cahn told Netflix. "In fact, they share all their intelligence. So how do you investigate the PM? Who do you trust?"
The first season landed Russell an Emmy nomination in the lead actress in a drama series category in 2023.

Where is the 'The Diplomat' filmed?
The second season of "The Diplomat" was filmed primarily in England and Paris, according filming site guide Atlas of Wonders.
The Season 2 trailer, which dropped earlier this month, included scenes prominently shot at the historic St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, according to Netflix.
"We filmed at St. Paul’s for four days," Cahn told Netflix. "The robes our clergy wore were lent to us by the cathedral. It was the fourth time they’d ever been worn, including Winston Churchill’s funeral, and Margaret Thatcher’s. It was breathtaking."
