New Director Revealed for Spider-Man 4
Spider-Fans, we have some incredibly exciting updates out of an exclusive report from The Hollywood Reporter that reveals some tidbits of what's to come from Spider-Man 4 – including a shift in director.
Jon Watts, director of the first three Tom Holland Spider-Man movies, will not return, and instead Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings', Destin Daniel Cretton, will take the helm.
Spider-Man 4 will be a co-production between Marvel Studios and Sony, and will be the second Marvel outing for Cretton following his success with Shang Chi.
The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers will return to pen the screenplay, with Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal as producers.
A bonus piece of info for fans is that production is eyeing an early 2025 shoot, meaning Spider-Man 4 is on the way even if there is no official release date as of yet.
Tom Holland spoke to Deadline about Spider-Man's next chapter earlier this year, saying he "[owes his] life and career to Spider-Man" and said they "have the best in the business working toward whatever the story might be."
More updates are to come as the film heads into production.
