DJ Vlad Apologizes To Marlon Wayans, Admits To Unprofessional Behavior

DJ Vlad and Marlon Wayans had a lot of smoke for one another on X (formerly Twitter) after their negotiations over an interview went south, with the controversial media personality calling out the White Chicks actor. The VladTV host recently, however, had a change of heart of heart and apologized to Wayans, admitting that he acted unprofessionally.

Vlad brought DJ Akademiks onto his platform for an interview, and they ended up discussing the 52-year-old actor. “Honestly, at the end of the day, it was just a business negotiation,” he said. “I could’ve kept it to myself. I overdid it.” Vlad’s change of heart included shooting his shot to possibly work with Wayans in the future.

“I do actually respect [him],” he continued. “That was the reason I approached [him] in the first place.” He expressed feeling slighted by the fact Wayans seemingly had more respect for Charlamagne Tha God and Big Boy, but doubled down on expressing his respect and owning up to his mistakes. “My bad Marlon, I apologize […] It’s all good. I think most people just want to respect each other and I think it could have been handled a little differently.”

The world learned DJ Vlad had disdain for Marlon Wayans during his interview with Aries Spears. He claimed Wayans wanted $40,000 for their interview and 30% of future earnings from the episode. Vlad considered both requests to be outrageous. A fan kicked off their keyboard jousting on Twitter by telling Marlon he would have charged Vlad $500,000 and 55% of all of the revenue.

“*laughing emojis* See I tried to tell him I was giving him a deal,” Wayans wrote on X. “Oh well.” Vlad responded, writing “Marlon Wayans found someone with 200 followers to agree with him. LOL. Nobody on earth is going to pay Marlon $40K for an interview when he gets 100k-300k views on any platform he interviews on. This guy is really delusional.”

“You mad? You unprofessional my guy,” the father of three wrote on X. “If you don’t like the number keep it moving. You look BAD. You should fall back. Mad at a black man stating his number? And now you go public and use your platform to try to drag me. I never in my life dealt with this silly negotiating tactic.” Check out the full X conversation below.
