DJ Vlad Criticizes Drake And DJ Khaled For Not Speaking On Hamas Attacks

DJ Vlad has called out Drake and DJ Khaled for their seemingly lack of support in response to the attacks on Israel by a militant Palestinian faction.

On Wednesday (Oct. 10), the polarizing media mogul questioned both stars’ silence given their ethnic backgrounds. Drake is Jewish and DJ Khaled is a Palestinian-American, which both artists have been open about in the past.

Vlad began his public inquiry by asking his followers if they were aware that neither Drake nor Khaled have addressed the ongoing conflict between the two nations in the Middle East. “Has anyone noticed that the most famous Jewish person on Earth, Drake, and the most famous Palestinian person on Earth, DJ Khaled, haven’t said a single thing about the Gaza-Israel conflict?” the former mixtape DJ wrote.

He then took a jab at Drake’s lack of vocal support by pointing to his war of words with Joe Budden stemming from the latter’s critique of his latest album For All The Dogs. ”It’s not like Drake is too busy. He’s been writing paragraphs about Joe Budden hurting his feelings about his new album,” Vlad added, before sharing similar sentiments aimed at Khaled. “DJ Khaled has been working overtime promoting his new Jordan sneakers. But both of them have been silent on this topic. Why is that?”

Vlad continued his lengthy message by accusing both hitmakers of being more concerned with their public image and branding than with speaking out about sociopolitical matters, stateside and abroad. “It’s because both are so thirsty to maintain their relevance that they wouldn’t dare risk insulting a segment of their fanbase. Heaven forbid that Drake might debut at #2 behind Taylor Swift because some of his Palestinian fans chose to not stream his album,” the 50-year-old added.

“And it would be the end of the world if Khaled sold a few less sneakers because some Jewish people decided not to buy his Jordans. That’s the difference between artists of today and timeless legends like 2Pac. You know damn well Pac would be the first one to speak out about something so close to home.”

A number of celebrities have publicized their support of Israel and Palestine, with varying reactions. Adult film star Mia Khalifa was dropped from her deal with Playboy and other companies due to social media posts praising the Hamas for their actions while lashing out against “zionists.” In contrast, boxing champ Floyd Mayweather has voiced his solidarity with Israel, personally sending supplies including food and bulletproof vests to the nation via private jet.
