Does Taylor Swift Play Lady Deadpool in 'Deadpool & Wolverine'?
She's been run over by an old timey car. She's poured catnip down on a hoard of Jellicles. She's performed a pretty heinous cheerleading routine. But is Taylor Swift returning to the big screen yet again?
Speculation on the internet that Taylor Swift may be appearing in Marvel's latest Deadpool & Wolverine began a week ago when the final trailer for the movie dropped. The teaser showed a quick shot of a woman dressed as Deadpool with a long pink ponytail strutting across a dusty backdrop. Fans immediately began to wonder who is Lady Deadpool? Could the woman behind the mask be pop star/occasional actress Taylor Swift?

The Amsterdam, Cats and Valentine's Day star is famously close friends with Deadpool & Wolverine's star Ryan Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively. The movie's director, Shawn Levy, also appeared in Taylor's "All Too Well" music video, so the connection was easy enough to make. Swift even posted a promotion for the movie ahead of the premiere.

Who is Lady Deadpool?
As it turns out though, it was another famous female behind the Lady Deadpool mask: Blake Lively herself...or at least kind of. Lively provided her voice to the role, while a stunt double actually wore the Lady Deadpool suit. The performance, after all, is pretty intensely physical.
Lively posted a tribute to the film on Instagram writing: "Brb I’m buying milky pens to write your name on my hand @vancityreynolds My y2k girlies, I should be competitive bc @itendswithusmovie is coming out in 3 weeks BUT when your middle school obsessions, your feelings post baby, or about Nice men who use feminism as a tool, your love of the Wizard of Oz, Succession, Sandy & Danny, driving with Avril blasting, the way the choreography of a certain boy*band song got me, of Baz Luhrmann fireworks to punctuate a moment, even down to the fact that our hair color is determined by seasons and the French method by which it’s painted are all so seen… MY WORD… it’s hard not to encourage my ladies to spot all the ways we’ve influenced @deadpoolmovie I’ve never been more proud. Lively then provided even more context for her choice to join the franchise in a second Instagram post. The post included several photos of Lady Deadpool in various iterations and also Lively's red carpet outfit, inspired by the character.

Unless Swift is lurking somewhere in the background with a mask on, it doesn't appear that she's made an appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine. However, with her world tour ongoing and football season fast approaching, there will be plenty of Swift sightings in the near future. And who knows? There's always Deadpool 4.
