Doja Cat, Offset, Sexyy Red, And More Announced For Hot 97 Summer Jam
Hot 97 has officially unveiled this year’s full lineup for Summer Jam. Doja Cat, Offset, and Sexyy Red are set to headline, while fans can also enjoy performances by Method Man, Redman, Sleepy Hallow, Davido, 41 (Kyle-Richh, Jenn Carter, Tata), and Tee Grizzley. The annual show is set to take place on June 2 at UBS Arena in Belmont Park, NY.
The one-day affair is widely known as a New York summer live show staple, as it traditionally highlights primarily NYC artists — both rising acts and veterans. This year, New Yorkers seem to be less than pleased with the lineup, as fans began flooding the hit radio station’s Instagram comments with honest reactions.
One of the top comments detailed how Method Man and Redman are the only artists booked that make sense. “Summer Jam used to be for New York Artists and other artists prayed to be brought out. 41 and the Red&Method man tribute are the only ones that make sense,” they wrote. “Too many hard-working hot NYC tri-state artists for this. We wanna see Off-Set come out on Cardi set and bring Bryson with him. We wanna see A Boogie, Benny, Connie, Remy, Steph G, Maiya The Don.”
“Doja Cat? This the same summer jam that said Nicki Minaj was too pop years ago,” another user quipped.
Tickets for the show will go on sale on Friday (March 22) at 10 a.m. ET via Ticketmaster. Fans can sign up here now to get early access.
Last year’s lineup was noticeably more New York-centric, as it featured proud NYC reps like Cardi B, Ice Spice, Coi Leray, French Montana, Fivio Foreign, Lil Tjay, and Lola Brooke. The Lox held it down for the Hip-Hop 50 celebration, and newer artists like Scar Lip, Kenzo B, 2Rare, Connie Diamond, Sha Ek, and McVertt had their shine as well.
