Doja Cat, Sexyy Red, Method Man And Redman Take The Stage At Summer Jam 2024
Though science would tell us that summer solstice signals the true beginning of summer, Hip-Hop plays by different rules. Hot 97 kicked off the warm weather splendor this past weekend with their annual Summer Jam concert.
This year’s show, emanating from the UBS Arena in Elmont, NY, was headlined by pop sensation Doja Cat. Other stars such as Gunna, Sexyy Red, Davido, Kyle Richh, Tata, and Jenn Carter took the stage. One special addition to the show was Cash Cobain, whose song “Fisherr” alongside Bay Swag has taken over New York City, especially after releasing the remix with Ice Spice.
Hip-Hop veterans were also well represented; Method Man, Redman, Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, French Montana, and Ferg all delivered their classic records. Meth wasn’t too pleased with the reception to his performance though. “Not our crowd at all,” he wrote on Instagram. “Thanks again, New York and the whole tri-state (that showed up to the event) plus Pete and Ebro I got love for you guys, but never again…at this point the generation gap is just too wide for me.. #nevercomingback.”
