Doja Cat Trolls Met Gala With Straight-Out-of-the-Shower Look and Fans Can't Recover
Doja Cat
Doja Cat continues to embody risqué and out-there fashion—and this year, she took the theme of “Sleeping Beauties” to heart.
Taking more pages from Bianca Censori’s playbook, the “Paint the Town Red” songstress showed plenty of skin at the 2024 Met Gala, as her look was an abstract take on the official dress code “The Garden of Time.”
On Monday, May 6, Doja Cat looked more like a sleeping beauty who overslept and decided to walk the Met Gala red carpet while wearing one towel on her head and a second towel wrapped around her body. Her fresh-out-of-the-shower look was completed with makeup that appeared to be streaming down her face and a pair of heels.
On X (formerly Twitter), fans simply could not recover from Doja Cat's look. "omg doja cat? no," one person exclaimed.
Another X user wrote, "gurl...be serious for a moment," while someone else commented, "hopefully there’s a dress under it cause this is not the gag she thought it was going to be."

Meanwhile, someone else joked, "Doja Cat shows up in a towel from Amazon," alongside a crying emoji.

Although Doja Cat looked fresh out of the shower while standing outside The Mark Hotel, by the time she hit the Met Gala red carpet, she revealed a completely different outfit. The singer traded her white towels for a white wet-look dress with long sleeves.
Leading up to the big event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Doja Cat gave glimpses at her bold fashion, arriving at Anna Wintour's pre-Met Gala dinner in what seemed to be a bedsheet wrapped around her—periodically exposing her black thong—while donning only some classic black Christian Louboutin heels.
Earlier in the day, the star joined fashion designer Guram Gvasalia at Wintour’s pre-Met Gala cocktail celebration in another of his brand’s Vetements looks—a leather cape dress with barely anything underneath.
The approach is vastly different from the “Kiss Me More” crooner’s style last year, as she broke the internet by taking fashion-inspo from Choupette, Karl Lagerfeld’s cat. The Oscar de La Renta-designed beaded gown included a hood with cat ears, as the pop culture icon opted for prosthetics to help her tap into her inner feline.
The 2024 installment of the annual event took place on Monday, May 6, with hosts Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny and Chris Hemsworth.
