Dolly Parton surprises at CMA Fest with Nashville hotel, musical announcement and much, much more

Dolly Parton is not slowing down.

During Fan Fair X at the 51st CMA Music Fest Thursday, Parton dropped a laundry list of projects, including a Nashville hotel and the name of the Broadway musical based on her life.

"Of course everybody always wants to know what I'm doing," she said during Fan Fest X. "Nobody wants to know that more than me. I'm going so fast I've met myself coming fast. I don't know how I do it either, but it's true I'm going to have a hotel right here in Nashville."

The hotel, called the Songteller Hotel, will also feature a museum, Parton said. It'll be on 3rd and Commerce, Parton said, and should be open "in a couple years."

"We're working real hard on that," she said. "I've always wanted a hotel in Nashville and a museum."

Parton said it was divine intervention that led her to both the location and name for the hotel.

"When we were looking at the property and we were walking through an empty room and there on the table was my book 'Songteller,'" she said. "We hadn't thought about a name for the hotel. We thought that might be a sign."

The museum will be different than the Dolly Parton Experience at Dollywood, she said.

"We'll have a lot of my real articles," she said referring to artifacts and clothing. "Hopefully, people will get to see some of my actual things like the little replica of the coat of many colors."

Dolly Parton on Broadway

Parton also revealed the name of the Broadway Musical based on her life.

"Hello, I'm Dolly" will premiere on Broadway in 2026, she said.

"I’ve written many original songs for the show and included all your favorites in it as well," Parton said in a news release about the musical. "You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll clap, you’ll stomp, it truly is a Grand Ol’ Opera. Pun and fun intended."

Parton said Thursday she tried for many years to condense her life story into a format that would be easy to understand. The musical was the answer to that.

The story will follow her from childhood where she was "dreaming about being a star," she said.

"I'm kind of calling it a Grand Ole Opera," she said chuckling.

Dolly Parton Wine, coming to a grocery store near you

Parton might not have a bar on Broadway, but her name will soon be on bottles on the shelves in your grocery store's wine aisle.

"Sometimes when you live long enough, you get what you call your brand. That means your name is familiar enough that everybody wants you to put your name on a product," she said. "I only put my name on things that I believe in. We are going to have some nice wines."

Parton said they're going to start with a chardonnay "reminiscent of a morning sun in the Smoky Mountains, according to dollywines.com. The bottle is available for preorder and orders begin shipping June 20, and will be available in stores in July.

Jennifer Aniston to revamp Parton classic film '9 to 5'

Jennifer Aniston is putting her own spin on '9 to 5.'

Parton said several years ago, she and Aniston discussed a remake.

"She had said something about she'd love to do a remake of '9 to 5' with younger, newer people and that possibly Jane [Fonda], Lilly [Tomlin] and I, they might look us up...and that we might get to be in there." she said. "I'm certainly hoping they'll use my song."

A Dolly documentary, new album

Of course Parton isn't done making music. On November 15, an album featuring her family will release to fans while a docu-series chronicling her family's origins in the United Kingdom to their home in Sevier County will release shortly after.

"Dolly Parton & Family: Smoky Mountain DNA - Family, Faith & Fables" will feature many family members and tell the story of the Partons and the Owens, her mother's side of the family.

"I'm very proud of my family," she said Thursday.
