Donald Trump mocks Jane Fonda and gets praise from 'Duck Dynasty' stars at campaign rally

Kim Kardashian isn’t the only reality star throwing Donald Trump some support. On Wednesday, Phil and Willie Robertson of Duck Dynasty fame took the stage at a “Keep America Great” campaign rally in their hometown of Monroe, La.

After being introduced by the president, patriarch Phil Robertson addressed the crowd and rattled off his list of reasons for voting Trump.

“If you’re pro-God and pro-America and pro-gun and pro-duck hunting, that’s all I want,” he said to cheers from Trump supporters.

Son Willie — who also backed Trump at the 2016 Republican National Convention — then stepped up to the mic. Behind him, his father could be seen giving the president an earful before walking off the stage as Trump patted his chest.

“You guys have been such a great community to share life with, to worship with, and I’m so tickled to be here with the president, that he actually came down to our community.

“Let’s go Eddie,” he added, referencing Republican Eddie Rispone, who is running for governor of Louisiana.

The Robertsons — and their beards — leaped to fame in 2012 thanks to their A&E reality show, Duck Dynasty, which documented their country lifestyle and successful Duck Commander line of duck calls for hunters. The show, which was canceled in 2017, had its share of controversy; in 2013, Phil was briefly suspended after calling “homosexual behavior” sinful.

“I started watching a little bit,” Trump said of Duck Dynasty during the rally. “A lot of wisdom there.”

But it was another bold-faced name who had Trump’s attention during the rally. As Fox News reports, POTUS devoted part of his speech to Jane Fonda, who has repeatedly been arrested in recent weeks — often alongside celebrity pals like Ted Danson — for protesting climate change.

“They arrested Jane Fonda, nothing changes,” he said. “I remember 30, 40 years ago they arrested her. She’s always got the handcuffs on, oh man. She’s waving to everybody with the handcuffs. I can’t believe it.”

He also referenced Fonda’s “Hanoi Jane” nickname, which the actress and Vietnam War protester received after controversially visiting Hanoi in 1972.

“Remember that? She went to Vietnam to find out how nice they were. They weren’t too nice to her, by the way,” he said. “No, they arrested her to today. Jane Fonda, nothing changes. They arrest ... every 25 years they arrest her.”
