'Doubling Down With the Derricos' Deon Gives Health Update at Hospital
Deon Derrico is giving fans insight into recent health scares that landed him and his mother in the hospital just a little over a week after finalizing his divorce.
On Sunday, the Doubling Down With the Derricos star revealed that both he and his mother, Marian "GG" Derrico, ended up in the emergency room at a hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada, for different reasons. They both are said to be doing "okay now."
"This past week has been a doozie to say the least… today both GG, and I were literally in emergency at the same time!!" the TLC personality shared in his June 23 Instagram upload that featured a photo of the two holding hands. "We are both okay now!!"
According to the reality star, GG was dehydrated with extremely low potassium levels. Considering she is also battling lung cancer, medical professionals decided to keep her in the hospital a bit longer for observation. "But she’s talking smack and getting on my case," which, according to Deon, "is always a great sign!"
A few hours later, Deon shared another update with fans—a video that showed him leaning on the side of his mother's gurney.
Shouting out her grandbabies, the 74-year-old said, "I just wanna let you all know that I am in the ER, being taken care of, y'all know GG been going through it for a couple of days."
"It's been a hard week, y'all," Deon interjected before he and his mother began bickering. "There you have it, GG's doing better," he joked.
Deon didn't get into details on what led him to pay a visit to the ER, but he did thank fans for their concerns in the caption, noting that he had plans to continue filming behind the scenes at the hospital as "a way of keeping you all up to date" since GG would be staying there overnight.
Feel better, GG!
