'Doubling Down With the Derricos' Deon Sends a Strong Message About Rumors Following Divorce
Doubling Down With the Derricos star, Deon Derrico, set the record straight about several rumors following his and Karen's divorce—and the TLC star didn't mince words with his message.
On Thursday, July 11, the father of 14 took to Instagram with a video of his recent livestream. His mother, Marian "GG" Derrico, and his "adopted son," Eric Jefferson, joined them for the clip.
"I thought it was good to address some of the things we've been seeing and hearing," Deon said in the video, noting that they "understood that we were sort of putting ourselves and our lives out there" when they signed on to do the show.
However, he explained, "I take offense when someone inboxes me their ideology from a perspective that's limited to 47 minutes from a television show of our lives—and make up this narrative that everyone has seemed to run with, and it derives at nothing."

In the video, Deon also addressed critics of the amount of child support he is required to pay Karen, which is $1,166, according to court documents.
"Karen pays the medical insurance. And so because she pays the medical insurance, which is about $2,000 a month, the legal fair equity of it is that I pay her half of the money she's paying for healthcare," he noted.
"But let me be very clear: I cover every bill in both of our houses because we now live in separate houses, yes we do," Deon added. "I cover bills at both houses...I say that not as bragging. I'm proud to be in the position to do it."

One of the most distressing rumors for Deon involves fan speculation that he and Karen divorced because he and Eric are romantically involved.
"I never take to social media like this, but it's really perplexing when the rumors have come up about Eric and I f---ing," he said.
GG also shared how these rumors affect her.
"When I look and see these comments about my son and my grandson here, it really hurts my heart," she said. "...Exactly who you see us to be is exactly who we are, on and off the camera."
Finally, Deon confirmed that his family is still filming for Doubling Down With the Derricos in the wake of his and Karen's divorce.
"We are currently filming our show, so you guys will be able to sort of understand what led to the divorce, how we got to the point of a divorce and just how esoteric a divorce is," he shared.
