‘Downton Abbey 3’ Opening Doors In Fall 2025
Focus Features and Universal Pictures International have set a Sept. 12, 2025 theatrical release for Downton Abbey 3 which is currently lensing in the UK under filmmaker Simon Curtis.
Curtis helmed the previous chapter, Downton Abbey: A New Era.

The third film in the Downton franchise is written by Downton creator and Oscar winner Julian Fellowes.
Pic is produced by BAFTA and Emmy Award-winning Gareth Neame, Fellowes and BAFTA and Emmy Award-winning Liz Trubridge.
On deck for part 3 is Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Phyllis Logan, Robert James-Collier, Joanne Froggatt, Allen Leech, Penelope Wilton, Lesley Nicol, Michael Fox, Raquel Cassidy, Brendan Coyle, Kevin Doyle, Harry Hadden-Paton, Sophie McShera, Douglas Reith and Dominic West return for the third film, alongside exciting new additions, Paul Giamatti, Joely Richardson, Alessandro Nivola, Simon Russell Beale, Arty Froushan, and many others.
The film is a Carnival Films production. Carnival Films is part of Universal International Studios, a division of Universal Studio Group.
The first Downton Abbey in 2019 stands as Focus Features’ highest grossing movie ever with more than $194M worldwide, and their biggest domestic opening at $31M. Through two movies, the Downton Abbey universe has grossed $287.2M.
