Drake Accused Of Shading The Weeknd In Passive Aggressive Old Clip

Drake is in hot water with The Weeknd fans after he released an old video of himself seemingly shading the singer. After Drizzy released the second round of his archived 100 Gigs collection, fans latched onto a video that featured the two future Toronto superstars.

The clip appears to be backstage at the 2013 OVO Fest with Drizzy and the rest of Weeknd’s XO camp in great spirits. However, upon closer inspection, fans noticed that while the Nothing Was the Same rapper was dapping up everyone, he awkwardly iced out the crooner and didn’t even acknowledge him.

The seemingly passive aggressive behavior ramps up as the video continues, with Abel Tesfaye twisting up his lip and face and appearing visibly annoyed at the lack of recognition. After Drake tells his story of Kanye West, Don C, and Virgil Abloh’s appearance at the festival, he then appears to give the crooner a dap before the clip ends.

Fans weren’t happy with the rapper’s demeanor during the clip and surmised that Abel never truly liked his Take Care collaborator. “Oh so he ignored him after he used him for one of his best albums? Great, you been a snake,” a fan commented on the video. “Drake a slimey guy,” another account examined. “Peep how he cut the footage immediately he acknowledged the weekend and was about to dap him up.”

Other spectators explained that the energy in the footage may have contributed to the ongoing beef between OVO and XO, typing, “Drake gonna dap everyone but The Weeknd and talk extremely close to him but act like all beef is due to jealousy,” while another comment said, “Ya’ll talking about a man who stole songs from The Weeknd around this time. Take Care was only possible bc of Abel. Period. He knew what Drake was then and knows what he is now.”
