Drake’s Pal Baka Not Nice Trashes New Kendrick Lamar Drop
Kendrick Lamar has released a new song, his first since smash hit “Not Like Us” took over the culture back in May. While many Hip-Hop heads are singing its praises, a friend of K. Dot’s rap rival, Drake, has deemed the track hot basura.
Baka Not Nice, one of the OVO members Kendrick called out by name on the aforementioned hit record, took to TikTok to share his distaste for the record, commenting from his verified account, “Sh*t sound like how them shoes look lil ni**a [wastebasket emoji],” referring to the beat up pair of black Air Force Ones Kendrick used to accompany the record. Take a look at a screenshot below.
It shouldn’t be surprising that Baka, a rapper and former security guard born Travis Savoury, isn’t a fan of the record, as K. Dot called him out for having “a weird case” on “Not Like Us.” He also blasted OVO Chubbs for allegedly rocking Drizzy’s hand-me-downs and singer PartyNextDoor for allegedly using cocaine.
The “weird case” Lamar refers to is a 2014 incident where Savoury allegedly forced a 22-year-old woman into prostitution. In 2015, he pleaded guilty to assaulting the woman and failing to comply with conditions for unrelated firearm charges, The Toronto Sun reported at the time. Prostitution and human trafficking charges against him were dropped, as the woman refused to testify.
Authorities claim the issue began when the woman, whom he was dating at the time, returned home to find him passed out drunk while food burned in the oven. She then woke him up and cursed him out for falling asleep with food cooking, resulting in him allegedly pushing her to the floor, according to Complex.
