You can’t expect to call someone the ‘worst dancer’ and not get a response back. So, when Julianne Hough answered the question of who she thought the worst Dancing With the Stars winner was, she should have expected there was going to be a response. And well, she got one. But what did Bobby Jones have to say about Hough’s comments?

Bones addressed Hough’s comments on his Instagram page on Monday, August 19, saying he “takes pride” in being called the “worst dancer” in the show’s history.
“Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live had Julianne Hough on,” Bones said in the video. “I’ve met [her] a couple of times, and she’s awesome. Julianne Hough… no slander from me. But they asked [her] who’s the worst ever, and she was being a bit diplomatic, and Mickey Guyton, of all people, was like Bobby Bones.”
“I was the worst dancer; I take pride in that!” Bones continued. “Now, I tried as hard as anybody in the history of the show, but I can’t dance now, couldn’t dance then. But you know who took down the big evil empire of dance? Well, it’s not evil or an empire, but me and you (he said as he pointed to the camera)! We did it together.”
Bones won Season 27 of Dancing With the Stars alongside pro Sharna Burgess despite earning lower scores from the judges than fellow finalists. Disney Channel actor Milo Mannheim came in second place, Harry Potter actress Evanna Lynch in third and influencer Alexis Ren in fourth. The show’s format means the winner isn’t decided fully by the judge’s scores, but by combining that and fan voting. That’s how Bones, a radio personality, came out on top.

“I’m the greatest champion ever. I didn’t say I was the greatest dancer, but the greatest champion ever,” Bones went on to say about his time on Dancing With the Stars. “I’m the man of the people. I’m the man that you guys selected,” he continued, adding, “But Mickey Guyton, what the…? Julianne Hough, you’re cool.”
There was even some self-awareness from Bones in the video, as he concluded with. “I’m a terrible dancer, I was a terrible dancer, but they changed the rules after I left because the fan vote was so good.”
Fans who once voted for Bones came to support him on Instagram too, with comments ranging from: “You WON ….WE WON….it is what it is, you can’t dance you own that but you are you…..YOURE REAL NOT FAKE” to “THAT RIGHT BABY!!! I had my whole family voting as many times as they allowed!” and “I voted for you! I got everyone’s phone in my household and voted for you off their phones too!”
In the end, not that much drama. Hough, now the Dancing With the Stars co-host alongside main host Alfonso Ribeiro, and Bones are cool. Bones and Mickey Guyton, on the other hand? That might be another story.
