Draya Michele, 39, And Jalen Green, 22, Respond To Criticism Of Their Relationship
Draya Michele and Jalen Green are doubling-down when it comes to defending their relationship.
While out with their month-old daughter, the couple — who have a 17-year age gap—responded to backlash and criticism with TMZ.
“We try to stay off the internet and really listen to that kind of stuff,” said the reality TV star. Green chimed in, noting, “We also don’t care.”
Michele continued, “We block it out and we mind our business. I don’t know what people’s problem is. Two adults being in love, I don’t know why that would rub people the wrong way. It’s kind of weird. Love is love at the end of the day.”
The pair have been romantically linked since August 2023 and announced they were expecting their first child back in March.
Regardless of how the couple explains their age difference, many are still against their relationship—especially considering Green and Michele’s oldest child are close in age.
In response to this recent TMZ interview, one tweeted, “She sounds like a groomer, ‘love is love’ like girl that’s what you was telling that little boy.” Another noted, “I really don’t see how she could date him. He’s clearly young as hell. Look how he’s carrying himself. She’s sick.”
When first speaking out on the scrutiny earlier this year, Michele wrote on her Instagram stories, “Get comfortable being misunderstood. Only a fraction of people will be able to truly grasp your essence. You are not on anyone else’s timeline of comprehension. Also, it’s none of your business how others choose to perceive you. Most High sees you clearly—let that be enough.”
