‘The Drew Carey Show’ is finally streaming for the first time

CLEVELAND (WJW) — Those who live here already know that “Cleveland Rocks.” But it wasn’t until “The Drew Carey Show” hit TV in the 90s — with the Presidents of the United States-sung tune as one of its multiple theme songs — that the rest of the country really started to understand.

‘Boy Meets World’ star shares she has breast cancer

Running from 1995 to 2004, the hit show featured Cleveland-raised comedian Drew Carey and his small band of friends of enemies trying to navigate life and love. And now, for the first time, fans can find the show on a streaming service.

Carey spoke with TV Insider earlier this summer, explaining he thinks the show has the power to reach a new generation of viewers, similar to “Friends.” However, he said the show wasn’t in syndication due to “music rights and stuff.”

“It’s pretty funny, and a lot of it’s kind of timeless,” Carey said of his beloved sitcom. “It was weird, [too]. [The cast and creators] were all Mad Magazine fans and stuff, so we weren’t afraid to go bananas.”
