Drew McIntyre Vows To Win Money In The Bank Match, WWE Provides Update On CM Punk
Drew McIntyre took out CM Punk, and his sights are back on winning the gold.
At WWE Clash at the Castle, Drew McIntyre challenged Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship. CM Punk interfered and cost McIntyre the match. McIntyre then said that he quit WWE on the June 17 episode of WWE RAW. However, it was a ruse, as he attacked Punk on the June 21 episode of WWE SmackDown and bloodied him.
Drew McIntyre came to the ring on the June 24 episode of WWE RAW. McIntyre made it clear that he was done with the fans who had been chanting for Punk, as they watched everything Punk did to him and still rooted for him. The former champion then said that he hoped Punk was uncomfortable and in pain. McIntyre took a shot at Punk by showing how he stole Punk’s bracelet with his wife’s name and his “stupid-looking” dog’s name on it.
McIntyre went on to vow to win the Money in the Bank match and cash it in the same night. He said that Punk would have to watch from home while he was still recovering.
On commentary, Michael Cole stated that CM Punk was at home recovering, as he suffered multiple injuries during the attack on WWE SmackDown.
As of this writing, Drew McIntyre has not officially qualified for the Money in the Bank match.
Update: McIntyre spoke with RAW General Manager Adam Pearce later in the show. He said that he did not think McIntyre deserved a spot in the match. McIntyre warned him that if he did not do the right thing, he would learn the true meaning of disruption.
