Dua Lipa, Patrick Mahomes and More Attend Time 100 Gala 2024
At Thursday’s Time 100 celebration, even the stars were starstruck.
“CEO of Mattel — very cool. I’ve always wanted to met the CEO of Mattel,” said comedian Alex Edelman, noticing that he was standing next to businessman Ynon Kreiz inside Jazz at Lincoln Center.

Time was hosting a gala dinner for its annual list of the most influential people in the world. Edelman and Kreiz were joined by fellow nominees including Dua Lipa, who performed later in the evening, event host Taraji P. Henson, quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Kylie Minogue, Michael J. Fox, Colman Domingo, Jack Antonoff (who attended with sister Rachel Antonoff), Maya Rudolph, Dev Patel and 21 Savage.
“Uma — yes, baby!” Fantasia Barrino called out as she caught sight of Uma Thurman, who was “just” a guest, posing on the other end of the red carpet.
While celebrities ruled the carpet, the list featured influential figures across industries. Tory Burch was honored in the “innovator” section of the list along with AI-builder Jensen Huang, Eli Lilly chief executive officer David Ricks and Jonathan Anderson. “Honestly, I was not expecting it. It’s just a huge honor to be alongside the most incredible group of people,” said Burch, wearing a dress from her latest collection.
“I think if you’ve got your eyes open and your ears open, and your mind open, there’s inspiration everywhere,” said “Padam Padam” singer Minogue, asked about her personal influences. “You take bits of different artists for sure, but what I have learned over time is you owe it to yourself to find your own way of doing it. And when you’re younger — when I was younger — you’re not at that stage. You’re finding your voice, and part of finding that voice is it’s influenced by a lot of people. But for me now, to be an influence for others, is pretty mind blowing.”
After the cocktail hour, guests made their way to their tables for the dinner ceremony, which was recorded and will be televised in May.
Throughout dinner, honorees offered toasts to others in the room. Mahomes paid tribute to WNBA player A’ja Wilson. “Tonight, I’d like to raise a glass to a new era of sports. An era when the women’s game is finally getting the attention it deserves,” he said, as the crowd cheered.
“We are the most influential people of the year,” said Henson, launching into host duties for the evening. “Can you believe that?”
