Dublin Police Perform Special Tribute to Taylor Swift
Authorities in Dublin, Ireland, made a sweet gesture to Taylor Swift and her fans ahead of the pop star’s arrival for three consecutive Eras Tour shows this weekend.
The “Fortnight” songstress is scheduled to perform the first Dublin show of her hit international tour on Friday, June 28, at Aviva Stadium. In anticipation of her arrival, Ireland’s national police force, the Garda Síochána, tapped its band for a special performance while urging local citizens to stay tuned for traffic information amid an anticipated surge of Swifties to the area.
On Thursday, June 27, the Garda Síochána shared a video clip of the performance on social media. After welcoming Swift and her touring team to the city, the Garda Band began to play Swift’s hit song “Shake It Off” from her 2014 album 1989 as crowds gathered around to enjoy the music.
“This is brilliant!” one person commented on Instagram, while another praised the band’s “Class ?? ????.”
“Keep it up Garda ????????????????????,” one Instagram user wrote as another dubbed the performance “Fantastic ??????.”
Some Instagram users tagged Swift’s account in the comment section, hoping the 14-time Grammy Award winner would see the video.
“If only she sees this and gets you all up. ??,” one person wrote.
As many fans of the “Cruel Summer” songstress know, one of her shows recently featured a cameo by someone concertgoers were not expecting to see pop up onstage: her boyfriend, Travis Kelce. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end attended all three of his girlfriend’s recent shows at London’s Wembley Stadium before donning a costume mid-performance on Sunday, June 23, and joining her on the stage. The move left many Swifties “in tears” as they gushed over how the “Anti-Hero” singer involved the NFL star in her performance.
