Duran Duran to Headline 2024 Cruel World Festival With Blondie, Interpol, and More
Goths, Eighties fans, and hungry wolves, this one is for you. On Monday, Cruel World Festival announced Duran Duran as the headliner for its 2024 edition, set to take place on May 11 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. Interpol, Blondie, and Simple Minds are among the festival’s top performers.
Making appearances at the single-day festival are Soft Cell, Placebo, Adam Ant, the Jesus and Mary Chain, TR/ST, and the Faint. Ministry will also perform songs from Twitch, Gary Numan will play The Pleasure Principle, and Dreamcar — the supergroup made up of AFI’s Davey Havok and No Doubt’s Tony Kanal — also appear in the lineup.

Tones on Tail are being promoted as the festival’s “special guest” in a separate Club Doom rave area. Among the other performers are Heaven 17, French Police, the Mission UK, the Stranglers, General Public, Model/Actriz, and Nuovo Testamento.
Tickets for the festival go on sale on Dec. 8 at 12:00 p.m. PT. General admission passes are $209, GA+ tickets start at $299, and VIP entry — featuring VIP areas, air-conditioned restrooms, and complimentary parking — start at $429.
Fans willing to spend big bucks can get access to the Clubhouse, which includes upfront stage viewing, complimentary food and drinks, locker access, special parking, and Wi-Fi for $949 per person.
This year’s festival was originally headlined by Billy Idol, Iggy Pop, and Siouxsie, though the venue was evacuated due to rain and lightning strikes. Siouxsie and Iggy Pop returned the following day with Siouxsie performing an extended set.
2022’s edition featured Morrissey, Blondie, Bauhaus, and Devo.
