Dustin Diamond’s Apologetic Message to His ‘Saved by the Bell’ Castmates
Saved by the Bell‘s Dustin Diamond joined Dr. Oz on Thursday to reflect on the hit series, as well as his former castmates.
“They had such an impact on me. I watch the show now, it’s been a long time, a long time away from the show, that I have gotten to fall in love with it all over it again. I have to thank Netflix for that. For putting Saved by the Bell out. But watching them all again, from beginning to end, was fantastic to see what skilled actors I was fortunate enough to work with,” Diamond said of his co-stars.
Diamond has had his share of trouble since the end of the show. In 2009, a tell-all book, supposedly written by Diamond, was released that portrayed his ex-castmates in a negative light. Soon after, a TV movie on Lifetime was made, based on the book, which named him as an executive producer. Diamond claims to have had a ghostwriter for the book, and that he had nothing to do with the movie. Diamond used his appearance on Dr. Oz as an opportunity to apologize to his castmates.
