Dwayne Johnson teases a future presidential run in the premiere of 'Young Rock'

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s new biographical comedy series, Young Rock, premiered Tuesday on NBC. The series has multiple timelines with multiple actors playing Johnson, including himself. It spans from the early 1980s to the year 2032, in which Johnson is running for president of the United States.

Considering Johnson is one of the biggest names in show business right now, it was no surprise that the new series was heavily discussed on social media platforms like Twitter. The vast majority of tweets and comments were quite positive.

Fans were also extremely excited to see some of their favorite professional wrestlers from the 1980s appear as characters in the show. The pilot episode alone featured legendary wrestling stars Junkyard Dog, the Wild Samoans, Andre the Giant and Iron Sheik. In fact, the Iron Sheik even took to Twitter himself to celebrate the premiere.

Many viewers also thought it was quite interesting that Johnson’s character is running for president in the year 2032. Speculation built online as several viewers commented about Johnson running in real life. Johnson has publicly teased the idea of running in the past and recently said he would be open to the idea, if that’s what people want.

Young Rock airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.
